Mon 26th September. Leaving Iseo
We said goodbye to Alex and after 13 nights in Iseo we departed for Igea Marina just north of Rimini. This turned out to be an OK place. The Sosta we chose was nice, and good value, however the resort was in the process of shutting down with few places open. Owen managed to rent a caravan on the Sosta for 30 euros a night. So we dug in and waited to see what the morning brought.

Friday 23rd September
We took boat trip to the island on Lake Iseo, Monte Isola. Nice walk around to several villages where in one we had coffee and in the other lunch. When Jonesy took a drink in the lake Alex came out with another of his gems... "so it's a freshwater lake then Phil". Previous one being "is this lake tidal".
Nice lunch of fish lasagne. Later that evening usual drinks around the green pepper bar. Got cold so ate inside.

19th September Owen and Alex arrive.
Sad that Dave and Carol had to cancel last minute, Dave collapsed in Spain doing the Caminho walk. 13 days in a Pamplona hospital having pacemaker and other procedures. Still in hospital on day he should have flown to Milan. However Alex and Owen arrived. First night shown the gorgeous sunset.

Now settled on Camping del So Village Iseo. le
We got the pitch we reserved close to the lake edge. In terms of facilities this is an excellent site. With a number of bars and restaurants, numerous toilets and two large swimming pools. Some strict rules regarding dogs but we are still looking forward to spending two weeks here.

Iseo or not.
Turned up at our chosen acsi site in Iseo to be told that there were no acsi pitches for dogs. Advised to pay 50 euros for an alt non acsi site. I advised them to amswer emails when people attempt to make a booking. Some satisfaction achieved when they said that an acsi dog pitch would be available tomorrow. Took a look at this and it looked fine. Head back tomorrow. Tried a number of sites in the Iseo area but all full so drove to Pisogne, the opposite end of the lake to Camping Eden. Lovely site on Lake, town quiet. Good choice.

Still on Baia Verde site.
An excellent site this with some large individualised pitches. Great pool, bar area and toilets etc. The promenade area is fine but you can only cycle or walk about a mile in each direction, unlike other areas where you can cycle for miles. Would definitely return.

Lake Garda 7th September.
Really enjoyed our 4 nights in Lago Caldonazzo but decided to push on to Garda. Usual site le palmyre and the surrounding area around Peschiera and Lazize was still very busy so we diverted to the Western part of the lake, returning to camping Baia Verde near Moniga. Great spacious site.

Lago Di Cadonazzo
Camping at Al Pescatorre about 100yds from the lake. Been here before on another site close by. Great place but busy at weekends. We got here Sunday lunchtime thinking the crowds might be leaving but still busy. Got a nice shaded pitch with a bit of privacy. Late afternoon swim and evening meal overlooking lake. Monday quieter on the waterfront.

Alpencampimg Weer nr Innsbruck
After leaving the Heidelberg area we drove about 3 hrs to Illertissen. A familiar overnight stop we've used before. Uninspiring Town, good site but with an additional 3 euros added to the acsi rate of 22 it seems overpriced.
The following day we set off for Austria obtaining the necessary motorway vignette just as we crossed the German border. We headed to Alpencampimg, east of Innsbruck. Fabulous site with good restaurant serving basic grub at reasonable prices. Some nice woodland walks.
