Friday 1st November.

Arrived Lyons La Foret, East of Rouen. Shorts packed away as it's 10c and colder than Wigan. Still a nice walk around the medieval village. Customary beers in a nice bar. Boat 2hr 20 minute drive away tomorrow.

Thursday 31st October .

Halloween in one of our favourite cities.. Bourges. Brightened by the hundreds of kids in Halloween regalia. Fab walk around city and some tasty beers. A cool 15c. Nice warm showers on site. Another great stopover.

Wednesday 30th October.

Now a regular stopover on our trips. Millau today hit 22c. Great walking around the town. Jonesys pre uk return vet bill really stung at 57 euros. The most we've ever paid. Nice lunch at our favourite bar, more walking then return to bar for a few beers. Good stopover.

Tuesday Portiragnes, France.

Starting to look a bit dull in Roses weather much better over the border in France. Arrived at Portiragnes near Cape d'agde. Weather 22c, sunny skies. Parked on the nearby Camping car parks aire and walked to beach. Sea warm but a bit dangerous. Sat and watched the big waves crash in.

Thursday 24th October

Arrived Roses, plenty of places on Camping Rodas but camper stop and Salata both full. Walked to the sun drenched water front, nice coffee and lunch. Evening meal and beers on site restaurant. Great day.

Wednesday last day at Camping resort Tamarit

OK so gangs of noisy German kids, but we worked around it. Another gorgeous walk to the waterfront at Altafulla. Lovely coffee and one of the most peace and relaxing swims of my life. Water still warm and crystal clear. In water for nearly 30 minutes. Another coffee then late afternoon at pool.

Wednesday 23rd October

Yesterday took a stroll to the coffee bars and restaurants at Altafulla. Really warm, had coffee and chatted to an English couple who bought a house in Normandy. Their purchase gave them a starring role in the TV programme A Place in the Sun, to be aired shortly. Took a gorgeous dip in the sea walked back to site and it clouded over with a short rain shower. Today beautiful morning walk with Jonesy over the cliff tops to La Mora.

Monday 21st October

We arrived at Tamarit Beach Resort yesterday and it was packed with German families. Took a stroll on the beach and it was like a July bank holiday. On our morning walk it was quiet so you can see the difference. The walk took us to the waterfront at Altafulla, beautiful and quiet. Lovely chill out moment, really hot and just wished I'd brought my swim togs.

Leaving Alcossebre. Yesterday 19th was our last full day.

Had a last swim on the fairly empty beach. Evening drinks at our favourite bar where they sell San Miguel Selecta. Then round the corner to El Jardine restaurant.

Saturday 19th October alcossebre

Coming up to our 7th night here and generally is been a good stay. Weather about 24 each day sea temperature about 23c so been swimming most days. It's a bit cool in the morning and evening but that's to be expected. Always a challenge to find a good well priced restaurant like the ones in Javea but we've tried different ones each night. Bars for drinks offer a great selection along the sea front. The past few mornings we've been walking around to Playa de la Fonts beach for my morning swim, sea very calm there, pics below

Thursday 10th October

We left Palamós Camping International after 2 nights. Definitely a place we'll return to. In Barbs present condition just a little too far to walk to all the bars and restaurants of the harbour in Palamós. On this trip we intend to try new sites so next stop was Camping Las Palmeras. A site that's a little further on from the one we usually use at La Mora, just north of Tarragona. Las Palmeiras is right on a beach, is massive in size and has a great pool and a couple of restaurants. The reception lady was nice but with the possibility of a busy weekend was sending all the early arrivals to the furthest pitches away. I reckon these are a mile from the reception. We took a look at these but no way could Barb walk all the way back down to the reception where the pool and restaurant's are located. So after telling this to the nice lady she gave us a lovely, more private pitch by reception. I could easily do a week here but unfortunately the sit closes on Sunday.

Tuesday 8th October.

Left LEstartit and drove to Camping International just on edge off Palamós. Can't believe we've never used this site before. Top pitch and an 8 minute walk to a lovely prom and beautiful beach Platja de Fosca. A handful of decent bars and restaurants.

Friday 4th October

Left a sunny Millau and arrived in Roses, Spain lunchtime. Filled up with "provisions" and the went to Camping Rodas... Campsite full. Nearby camper stop also full, camping Salata full. Change of plan... Quick drive to Camping Siena in L'Estartit. Decent site and only 15 euros a night. Weather set to be good.

2nd October

Headed to Acsi site in Chartres, heavy rain limited the pitches available so nothing available. Drove to delightful Camping Car Parks site at Voveens.. Good choice. Adjacent to lovely park with toilets. Next day 3rd drove to the Camping Car Parks in Millau, nice meal and beer but electric went off 9pm.next day headed for Spain.

1st October 2024

We dropped Tim off in Reading and then got 1pm ferry to France, stopped at Ousteau, Bolougne for fuel, wines, groceries and a Leclerc sim card. First night on Camping Car Parks stop in Merlimont. Quick walk around that night and following morning... Nice enough resort

3 Days in Rodelinghen near Calais. 12th to 15th september

As Jonesy's European Pet Passport was about to expire on 27th September we decided to avoid all of the shenanigans and expence of going through the uk renewal process that mainly involved a simple rabies update but if done in the uk would have involved a lengthy and expensive process. So combine it with a cheap 3 day ferry crossing, a really nice reasonably priced farmhouse and a great opportunity to replace all the spaces in my wine cellar so off we went and what a pleasant trip it was. We had a couple of days visiting our favourite Wissant and also drove down the adjacent Opal Coast. We got 30 bottles of fine wines and got his rabies injection, his annual booster and his worming for trip home for around 64 euros.
