After a lot of 'soul searching' and researching we decided to sell our caravan and make the switch to a motorhome. We looked at quite a few and although we initially considered larger types such as the Rapido, we finally settled for a Hymer 572 van with a transit base vehicle. Such a vehicle will enable us to travel around a lot easier and should be compact enough to allow us to leave campsites on a daily basis to journey to shopping centres and even the beach. We purchased the van on 10th March 2012 from a private seller in Annan Scotland. After a quick wash and check over we went off to try out the van spending short breaks in Shrewsbury, Hereford, Broadway, Devizes, Wareham Forest, Cheddar and North Piddle.
After such a trip we both decided that we had made a good decision in buying this particular van. Some accessories have now been added...a bike rack, extra power sockets and we are looking to get a wind out Fiamma awning. All of these will be great additions in time for our expected trip to Sardinia in early May. So hopefully the next entry to this blog will record our trip to this lovely island.
Here we see Pickles guarding our new purchase!
