24th February 2018

Well the alarmists down at the BBC continue to warn us about the potential weather coming our way stating that "the beast from the east" will have us in its grip shortly. So off we went to Keswick for 3 nights. Yes its cold but absolutely wonderful to be out walking in the mountains. As they say there's no such thing as bad weather just the wrong clothes. We got the ferry across Derwentwater and climbed up Catbells, the famous Wainwright walk. Then returned to the site following the west side of the lake, a total of 5 hours.

Another beautiful sunny day. With winter approaching we have to make the most of this weather. Headed to Flamborough and the Haven Holidays touring park. Not normally our type of site but as I always say , commercial sites give you everything you need just avoid the busy times when the kids are off. Did the Flamborough Headland walk. Terrific views. Passed a nice pub in village where we can watch Liverpool match tonight and have a meal. Total miles clocked was ten! Looking forward to a few deserved pints tonight but not the walk back to the pub.
