Sadly we are gradually running out of time so we had to leave otranto and head to Gallipoli. Unlike otranto it was difficult to find a site close to the city but la Masseria is about 10 minute bike ride from the centre and although it offers a shuttle bus they don't allow dogs on it. So we plan on getting the bikes out tomorrow and giving the city an exploration. Today we walked about 2 miles north to Rivabella a resort with a nice sandy beach where I was also hoping to get a nice pint. No such luck, the place was completely shut down and deserted except for one or two dog walkers on the beach.
