Everything you need to know at the moment.

This is us...Phil & Barbara visiting the Alhambra Palace and gardens in Granada, Spain. This trip was completed in April, May and June of 2011 and took us all down the med coast of Spain, down as far as Gibraltar. We then went through the centre of Spain visiting Seville, Caceras and Salamanca.

This is our present caravan, a Dethleffs Rally Nomad 2006

This is our dog...Pickles, a 13 year old Border Terrier who enjoys chilling out and cycling.

Introduction.

After a number of trips in our caravan to places such as France, Spain, Germany, Austria, Hungary etc. We became increasingly aware that some of our family and friends wanted regular updates and photos of our travels. Since similar travellers have created blogs and websites in order to do this we thought we'd give it a go. So here goes. (Introduced 17:25 on 31st January 2012)

These photo's below were taken at Granada. The excellent weather continued and we really enjoyed the area staying outside Granada at Camping Las Lomas,  Guejar Sierra. Most pics below were taken at the fabulous Alhambra Palace and gardens and also the very large magnificent cathedral.

These next three photies below were taken at Los Gazules. The town was way off the beaten track but worth a visit. We had a meal and walked around the town but at one point we heard the harmonious sounds of a brass band. We searched for the source and soon came across a large group of young people playing some mesmerising music...we just stood and took it all in.

Here below we find ourselves in Conil De La Frontera. We loved it here and we really enjoyed the excellent campsite La Rosaleda

Seville, such a beautiful city. We had to stay at the site at Dos Hermanas, quite a distance outside of Seville and not the nicest of places although the site was really nice. We went to the Carrefour at Dos Hermanas and the next day we saw on the news that it had been raided by machine gun carrying thieves, the same day we were there.

Below is Caceras another lovely city in the centre of Spain. The site had an excellent swimming pool and each pitch had a brick built outhouse with your own toilet, sink and shower.

Here below is our favourite city, by virtue of its beauty, in Spain.....Salamanca. Right in the middle of Spain. We stayed at Camping Don Quijote , a lovely bike ride along the river takes you into this the oldest university city in Spain.

Below is Castrojeriz a pretty little village surrounded by plains and lovely countryside. We weren't that keen on the site,  Camino de Santiago. Too many trees and tight corners. The food in the restaurant was good but again put off by the owner having a sly smoke when there were signs telling people not to smoke.

The northern coast of Spain. We stayed at Camping Itxaspe near the town pictured below Deba

The Dordogne near Sarlat . We stayed at the excellent site La Bouysse de Caudon

After the Dordogne we headed to Lesley and Rays house, we wild camped nearby and had a meal outside the van for my birthday.

Final stretch saw us at Chateauroux, campsite Le Rochat belle isle. There was a free rock concert on next to the site.
