Friday 31st. Arrived in Salzburg, Austria. Austria is always the same...drive through it and its boiling hot, stop off somewhere to stay for awhile and it rains. In fact it rains a lot in Austria. Parked on the new stellplatz just outside the city (21 euros a night with full facilities). Jumped the bus and had 3 hours walking around the attractive old part of the city. We managed to avoid the showers but the next few days in Austria aren't that great.

Neuburg on the Danube.

31st August. Spent the night on the free stellplatz in Neuburg on the Danube. Riverside location with good views of the old part of town. We really liked the parking area despite not having showers or electric, the toilets were very clean, it was quiet and well spaced out.

Left early this morning for Saltzburg in Austria.

Thursday 30th August. Spent last night on a site in Wertheim on the river Mainz. On arrival yesterday it was a hot 34c for most of the day. Sat watching the luxury cruise boats go up and down the river along with the large barges. Took an evening stroll into the pretty town. We passed a stellplatz where there were quite a few motorhomers parked underneath a flyover. They were overlooking the Mainz and very close to the town. Water, drainage etc but no electric or toilets. Surprisingly quiet under there.

The Mosel.

Tried the stellplatz at Reil but no riverside pitches and no elecky so tried a few more , many were busy or full but found a nice one at Losnich, right on the river with electric. Limited facilities for water and toilet emptying, had a good value meal at the nearby hotel. 12 euros for 3 courses. Weather hot . Had a delightful 7am walk along the river with Jonesy , sunny with the church bells ringing and Jonesy singing to them. Paid 10 euros for our stay.

Monday 27th August.

Traffic congestion throughout Belgium but we got to our destination just after 2pm. A lovely riverside site 500yds from the beautiful Esch sur Sure in Luxembourg.

Sunday 26th August 2018

Set off early for 4:35pm channel tunnel. Train set off ok then broke down 100yds from platform. Had to reverse and then we offloaded and got on another train. Arrived in France over two hours late. Arrival at Peruwelz aire too late to get elecky so a free nights stop.

July 16th

Monday the 16th July. Just about to leave and you can sense the reluctance of Jonesy to leave. Its been 16 absolutely fantastic nights in Jersey where the daytime temperature never dropped below 25c. We never saw a drop of rain and we ate out every night. The sea was warm enough to swim in every day.Fabulous food and wine. I've always thought it to be one of the most beautiful parts of the uk and we are so grateful and thankful to Sandra Georgeson and Georgeson Denis for letting us stay in their house while they were away. It would have been so much nicer to have stayed with and looked after little Dobber but sadly it was not meant to be. We also have to thank again Owen Carroll for letting our daughter Sophie Blundell and family stay in his flat. One great holiday.
