Yet another rainy stopover in innsbruck.

Same site in Hall, Innsbruck. Acsi rates not started yet but 20e for stay on Motorhome part. 10e after 1st October. Departed about 9am. Topped up lpg heading for Lavize on Lake Garda.

Arrived at Lavize and our chosen site Fossalata was heaving, presumably because they had brought there acsi rates forward, probably the only one doing acsi today. Just too busy. So returned to la palme. 29e a night but quieter. Still plenty of kids about, another 2 weeks before Italian kids go back to school.

Saturday 29 August 2020

27th and 28th 2 nights in Sonnenbuhl, Germany

First day was warm and sunny so took my first dip in the pool, our neighbours were a geordie couple who live in France, they don't count so we still haven't seen anyone from the UK. Second day dull so set off on one of the many forest trails, all set for another 4 hour 10 mile walk. After about half a hour Barbara says...look down there another campsite like ours. Yep gone round in a complete circle. So decided to go to the bread shop instead.

After two nights we woke to rain so headed off to Austria. Dreadful weather on route and lengthy traffic delays. Stopped at innsbruck although the rain only stopped for about an hour when we arrived.

Wednesday 26 August 2020

26th August left Moselle arriving at Hirshhorn on the Neckar

Views from the castle.

Stellplatz at Hirschhorn. Nice setting but probably a little overpriced at 14 euros. Sports bar on site, close to old town on the banks of the river

Hirschorn was a little off route as we intend to go to an ACSI site south of Stutgart but it was worth a visit.

Saturday 22nd chunnel and overnight peruweltz. Sunday arrived moselle River Germany

Karl Marx House, Trier.

 Karl Marx house Trier.

Trier cathedral.

The Porta Nigra was built in grey sandstoneafter 170 AD.
There were a family of these close to the site. Not beavers but a Coypu type of animal.
The Moselle river.

Jonesy meets Oscar.

We had 3 nice nights at Longuiich on the Moselle. Its a lovely quiet and clean town and the stellplatz was right on the edge of the town. Great stellplatz and good value at 11 euros a night. Because of the pandemic the toilets weren't open although the shower was. There was a really popular bar/restaurant on the site with good value meals. We ate out there one night and had a bottle of the local white wine. Trier was about 13 miles away on the cycle path so we spent a day cycling on the Bromptons and walking around the city. Really interesting place. However it was a real struggle on the Bromptons with Jonesy in his carriage. Looked forward to a pint in the restaurant/bar on our return but everywhere was closed ...Monday. Our last night was spent in the town restaurant where we had an excellent rump steak.

Sunday 23 August 2020

21 August. Overnight in Henley-on-Thames.

What a dump... Couldn't find a labour club, poundland or Lidl. Seriously a really nice place even though the beer was expensive.

Tuesday 4 August 2020

1st August walk to barafundle Bay.

Probably one of my favourite beaches. Walk from site to beach and return was a little short of 10 miles along the coastal path. On return a well deserved pint in the longboat bar. Tomorrow, Sunday we return home.

30th July arrive at Freshwater East

A bit of a trek from Cheddar but worth it with such good beaches. Rather busy but social distance adhered to on. beach.

29th July overnight stop at Cheddar

A walk around busy Cheddar during day and evening meal at the Riverside Inn another pleasant stopover but Cheddar a little bit Cheesy.
