Just about to board the Eurotunnel

We really are becoming creatures of habit as we returned to the aire at Wissant for out final day and night. Had a really pleasant couple of hours on the beach, first time we've seen the tide right in and no sign of kite surfers. The beach is beautiful with the tide in and its hard to believe that you are only 10 miles from Calais. The aire was quiet but full during the evening and yet again we ate at the same restaurant as we always do.
10 miles from Calais and this is what you get. Great swim.

Wednesday in Yport, Thursday night in Le Crotoy

After the vets we sped about25 miles north back to the coast and spent the night at Yport, camping La Chenaie. Another good site in a nice valley 800 metres from a rocky harbour. Yport reminded me of one of those Yorkshire coast fishing villages. The following day we drove up to Le Crotoy and spent the night on Camping La Prairie. Le Crotoy is a popular destination with a good choice of seafood restaurants. I nice coastal path and promenade and really good views over the bay.

2nd of July in Dinard

We camped at Camping La Tourese, another wonderful site 400 metres from a glorious beach. The walk into Dinard was supposed to be 1 and a half kilometres but it was actually 1 and a half miles. Dinard is a classy resort with a tidy promenade and views out to St Malo. Here the rich can play at the Casino and eat at one of the many restaurants along the waterfront, but we just searched for the supermarket and wandered down the prom. Later a couple of hours on the beach and yet another couple of swims. Water ok and not as cold as the Pink Granite Coast, boy that was cold.
Big grassy pitch.

From Dinard looking across to St Malo

Next 3 photos all of the beach 400metres from campsite , dogs only allowed before 15th June and after 15th September.

Pors Peron to Camping Du Port , Pink Granite Coast.

It had been a late night watching Glastonbury so when this birthday boy opened the Motorhome doors he was shocked to find about a dozen English campers stood outside singing happy birthday. What was even more shocking was from the group a young beautiful woman emerged wearing only the scantiest of bikini bottoms, her voluptuous bosom obscured by a bottle of vintage champagne. As she came close she asked me how old I was and I very nervously replied 67. She then refused to accept this stating that I was a perfect specimen who had the body of a 27yr old. She then moved close to kiss me , handing me the booze. At this point my pulse rate began to soar and I could feel my legs turn to jelly. Then I woke up to hear a snoring Barbara quickly grunt “Happy Birthday” before quickly returning to her snoring. As I moved out of the boudoir I could swear that her snoring began to take on the melody of Happy Birthday…..How Sweet.

We left Pors Peron early just after 8am. It was only a 90 mile trip but it was a trip of many minor roads and I knew that the next site was closed for 3 hours after 12:30. If I said that the journey made me feel like we were going around in circles then it was, because we were, all 72 roundabouts, but we got there eventually. On arrival at Camping du Port on the Pink Granite Coast I again had that uncertain feeling, was it up to our expectations. However Barb went to the reception and booked in, they gave us a pitch with a sea view, in fact that’s an understatement as the waters edge was about 20 metres from the van. The tide was out and the rocks, little coves and islands were all exposed. I couldn’t  say that the rocks and the sand were pink but they did have some sort of pinkish cast to them. To get the full benefits of this magnificent stretch of coast you have to walk it so we set off with temps about 27c and walked for nearly 2 hours on a circular route. Sheer bliss a fab coastal path.
