Le Bourg D'Oissens Sunday 31st August 25
Picked a really beautiful day to arrive in this town. Camping Cascade is an excellent site situated close to the centre and surrounded by mountains. A stunning Alpine setting that doubles up as a ski resort in winter. Glad we arrived early at 10am to take advantage of all it offers.

Wines by the mile
Wine of the week. Two contenders here with the Fronsac coming out in front.
1 A 2022 Chateau de La Riviere Fronsac
Dominate taste is a softening of the tannins, strong oak flavour with touches of blackberry. A gentle dryness to the aftertaste. 12 euros E Leclerc.
2 Chateau Pessan Saint Hilaire Graves 2018. At 7 years old some would say there's not much left in this but from start to finish it was a delight to drink. Smell of red fruits gentle and easy. 8 euros E Leclerc.
Camping Iserand, Vion, France
Another one night stop in the Rhome/. Ardeche area south of Lyons and north of Valence. Nice sight 22e on Acsi. Hot and muggy 32c so nice cool off in pool. Bit hot for Jonesy.
Cluny
Another return to one of our favourites
Attraction is the beautiful medieval town with old Abbey, some excellent eating and drinking places and for us the municipal swimming pool next to campsite, with free access for campers. Really hot today 34c,so quick swim and then a walk into town for a beer. Meant to return in evening but driving rain and thunderstorms kept us in doors. 29 euros for the night as acsi rates don't apply until next Monday.

Friday 22nd August. Sézanne.
Yet another return to this great site priced at 15 euros a night. Main attraction is of course the Olympic sized swimming pool. Swimming Friday and Saturday but also walked into Sézanne today and found a charity shop with some fabulous bric a brac. Bought a cheese plateau for 2 euros. Don't know how we survive life in the fast lane!!

21st August arrival in France after two nights with Flossie. Elliott, Tim, Shanti and Allison.
Nice two days with kids but we have to go on a European trip. Got off boat an hour late, Motorhome went into limp mode but we managed to pull over at first exit in Calais ,could only get 1,2,and 3rd gears. Turned engine off and restarted engine. Everything back to normal. Got to the fantastic aire at Arras parked up and found a great bar in a sunny spot in the city centre. Chilled out worries and tension reduced. Fingers crossed for tomorrow and what a great place Arras is.

1 - 3 August 25. Stratford upon Avon
Met Tim and the family at Dodwell park just outside Stratford upon Avon. Again this fab summers weather continued. Lots of chats and drinks outside the van. We played croquet one morning on the large exercise field. Went into the town centre a couple of times where we took Elliot up on the ferris wheel to get some views down the river. Also on the Sunday we took in a National trust stately home. A good break.
5TH MAY 2025 Stoke Bruerne, Caversham (to see Tim, Shanti and kids), Sandford Holiday Park near Wareham.
Great trip this, in fabulous weather. We had 2 nights in Stoke Bruerne on the canal. Great little CL site with basic facilities next to 2 lovely pubs which we visited. We even had a tasteful meal at the Indian Restaurant overlooking the canal. Really enjoyed this stay in a beautiful location.
Next off to Tim's, nice seeing the family in their spacious house. Totally impressed with the Caversham area. Some nice pints out but off to Sandford park. We later returned to Tim's on way back.
Sandford park camping area at the back of the static caravan site area is excellent and comparable to most Caravan club sites. Really good value with the added bonus of a bus right outside the site and a decent bar/restaurant /club
We took advantage of the buses traveling to see the tremendous beaches at Swannage and Bournemouth. Weymouth... we used bus and train. Returning from Bournemouth we took advantage of an open top bus to Swannage. We even visited Corfe Castle Again we loved this trip and decided we must take greater advantage of the Parkdean deals.
